Director of Women's Ministry

I was born and raised in Carmel Valley CA, met Ron “Pup” Nelson while attending SCC (VUSC), and we got married in 1993. Pup was in youth ministry for 20 years, coached baseball for many of those years in some capacity, and for the past 6 years has been the area director for FCA in the Central Valley. We are blessed to be parents of Zach, Sam, and Ruthie. They keep us busy as they are all very active in competitive sports. I was an elementary teacher for 17 years, most recently a transitional kindergarten teacher in Clovis Unified. Three years ago, at a Coaches Time Out retreat, The Lord began impressing upon me to a desire to reach out to coach’s wives and their families by encouraging and supporting them, as well as to women coaches and athletes. As I waited on The Lord and prayed about joining the FCA team, He also impressed upon Pup’s heart a need for a female staff here in the Central Valley to connect with and speak to women coaches and athletes as well as coach’s wives. I have seen God’s faithfulness and how He supplies our needs…where God guides, God provides. I am excited and humbled to be called to serve with FCA in this area of ministering to women, whether they are a coach’s wife, a coach, or an athlete.
