Richard Avila

Fresno County Representative

Richard was born and raised in Madera, CA. Raised by his grandfather Mike Vizcarra, Richard went on to graduate from Madera High School (2002), get his associate's (2009), bachelor's in quality systems management (2017), and a master's degree in strategic leadership and organization from Fresno Pacific University (2022).

On 9/9/09 Richard married Mary and they raised a total of 6 boys (Lance, Donavan, Aiden, Savanh, Noah, and Gion). They now have 3 grandchildren and enjoy spending time visiting their kids and grandkids. 

2013 was the year that God came in and transformed Richard's life to be the husband, father, and role model he was meant to be. Since then, Richard has served the lord faithfully as a teacher, leader, speaker, and deacon. He has realized the magnitude of how important it is to raise, support, and mentor godly boys and men.

Soccer has been a part of Richard’s life since 8 years old and then going on to play at the varsity level for Madera High School. Richard has played, refereed, and coached at several levels and age groups, and continues to play currently. 

God is now going to use all these life experiences and use sports as a platform to point coaches and athletes to a relationship with Jesus Christ.
